HOLY SHITBALLS

So……… Claire & Andy’s wedding.
I had been waiting for this one for A LONG time and had very high expectations.
I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED.
I have so many words racing around in my head, that I simply can’t get them all out - at least not in any coherent way.
So I will waffle in bullet point.
- they are THE cutest couple - I literally just had to click the button on the camera
- they have some of the biggest legends in their lives - not least of all their wedding party
- they picked some of the THE best vendors - some of whom are new to me, but I will be championing the shit out of them
- THE VENUE.. needs a post all of it’s own - of which I will most certainly be doing at some point. My brain is STILL exploding from how amazing it is.. and not just the bricks and mortar - but you can tell that Mark and Sandi are the very essence of the venue and their heart and souls are embedded deeply in the building (by the way, I’m moving in - that’s alright, right???)
- Andy & Claire most definitely delivered on their promise of all the dance floor gold.
I could go on, but I’ve already burnt the potatoes once today, so I shall let the images do the talking…

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy.

I was so bloody excited to shoot this Elopement/Micro Wedding.
It was my first wedding back since March - thanks to that 2020 C-word - and it was such a cracker to get things rolling with.
A little ceremony not far from my hood - down at Sandringham Beach - with their nearest and dearest close by. Jac and Matt were definitely 'on point' and looked absolutely flipping amazing.
We'd had a lot of banter over the months - trying to work out the best time to postpone their original plans to and to what it was going to look like. I feel like this day just helped to solidify our already blossoming friendship.
And to top it all off, my brother brought down his 85 year old @lambrettaaustralia - its Italian heritage well and truly appreciated by this über cool couple.

Mojitos, baby!

MOJITO MADNESS 101

This is your step by step guide to making the best goddam mojitos ever…
Why?
Well, because, um, they’re awesome.
AND I figured it’s a great way to fill in some time.
AND they’re really easy to make.
AND, did I mention they’re awesome??

At first I thought I’d do a little video thingo - but then I remembered that there’s no way in hell I’m standing in front of a camera and talking… nope, not gonna happen.
So, I put my girls to work, and did what I do best…
YOU’RE WELCOME!!

INGREDIENTS

1 Part Sugar Syrup

Mix 1 part water with 1 part sugar and heat over a low heat till all the sugar has dissolved.
Put aside to cool.
DON’T tip out by mistake - that’s REALLY annoying.

1 Part Lime Juice

Always make sure you have a ‘Bear’ at hand to oversee the process…
… oh and perfectly manicured nails..
PS making the most of a good day where these two aren’t ‘hating’ on each other… ;)

1 Part mint leaves

Moosh (otherwise known as muddle) those mint leaves.

1.5 parts rum

Pour from a height for full ‘Tom Cruise’ impact..
Or just to prove true ‘dickheadness’

3 parts soda water

AND MIX

Mix it all together.
Now, the size of your ‘part’ can be anything.. we use quite large ‘parts’ as we’re quite partial to a Mojito and whatever we don’t drink (lol) we put in the freezer for later.

BEST SERVED ON CRUSHED ICE

JUST TO RECAP..

1 Part Sugar Syrup (1 part water & 1 part sugar heated till fully dissolved)

Perfect for camping.
Pre-make and freeze before departure and have on the first night once you’re all set up.
First night is always cocktail night - that’s a rule of camping right?

And not just because of his size - all 72kg of him!
He watched dutifully as Jo walked down the aisle to Stan.

An amazing wedding starting at Glasshaus Inside, and followed by a kick arse ceremony at The Kilburn.

What a bunch of legends this lot are! I had such an awesome day with Bec & Will. Not only did they have amazing friends and family by their side, but they had chosen some of the best vendors there are.
And I've said it once, I'll say it again, you can totally tell how awesome a couple are going to be by the people they have around them and the people they choose to have help them make their dream day become a reality!

So I couldn't have been happier working at Glasshaus Outside (albeit for the first time - Glasshaus Inside is a firm favourite) and having the ever so lovely Charis at the helm. And to top it all off I got to work with ma boys, videographer extraordinaires and all time legendary humans, Jack and Jackson off of @oneheart_studios.

All of that, combined with Bec & Will and their 'core' group - it just doesn't get much better.

I got to spend a cold summer’s day with these bloody legends on one of the best days EVER.
It had ALL the things... the people, the food, the venue, the attire, the laughs, the tears, the drinks, the music, the vibes and SO MUCH LOVE.

Despite the near arctic weather conditions (for which I had to stop and buy a jumper enroute as I was completely under-prepared for 7.5C temps in Summer - whodathunkit) these two delightful humans, braved the elements with me, and we made some magic together. I just hope they can now see that their 6 million apologies 'for being so awkward and shit at it'.. were unwarranted and that in fact they nailed it.... sooooo many more magical moments to come.

It was a very good day.

Oh. My. Goodness.

This is the Elopement of Kate & Gaby.

There were alpacas courtesy of my Uncle & Aunts farm (which is where we all were) , a bonfire ceremony, incredible lighting, Dark Mofo vibes, beautiful florals, delectable delights for consuming, a kick-arse cake, 2 gorgeous brides donning incredible gowns and a group of vendors who certainly know how to deliver the goods.

This is the third ‘elopement giveaway’ I’ve been involved in, and none of them would have been possible without some truly amazingly talented and generous people in the wedding industry. And what is just as important is finding a couple who are willing to let us get our ‘creative on’ and embrace the opportunity before them.

This is exactly what Kate and Gaby did.
Their application was the first to land in our inbox and although we had many other amazing applications come in, it was hard to move past their glorious story and clear passion for life and each other.
And what came across on paper, was even more apparent in real life.
Two of the most gorgeous mind, body and souls I ever did meet.
And I feel like we (the vendors) all came away with 2 new besties.

I have so much love for this day and ALL these people, it’s been very difficult to find ‘big enough’ words to portray that love.
This day, and these people have moved me to the core.

Another day, another wet wedding.
This is my 3rd wet shoot in a row, with my 3rd super awesome couple ready to brave the elements and embrace the rain. I'd say that's a pretty bloody awesome hat trick!! Not only that, I love that Rose is holding the umbrella while Stefano holds the flowers. These guys nailed it today. Can't wait to catch up with these two legends tomorrow for the PART-AY bit of their celebration..
Oh yeah and I'm slightly obsessed with Rose's top and skirt combo...

I feel sooooo bloody lucky to have been a part of Mike and Jerome's very special elopement... the day filled my heart with so many different emotions - mostly love, joy, admiration, excitement... it certainly was a day of all the feels. A truly international wedding - Mike is an American who has been living in Pakistan & Jerome is a frenchmen who has been living in Thailand, their guests flew in from Spain, France & Thailand.

These two gorgeous humans eloped at the magical Erskine Falls ..... just after we walked down to the falls, and just moments before the ceremony started it absolutely bucketed down with rain - but these adventurous boys ( and their 6 guests) took it all in their stride and saw only the beauty in what was about to happen. I LOVE a couple who embraces the rain - any time, any place.
Such a gorgeous ceremony... with the equally gorgeous @zenalythgo.celebrant at the helm - to whom we are also grateful for planting this watery seed in the minds of these two elopers...

These two beautiful souls got themselves hitched in front of some more beautiful souls....in their very own backyard wedding. It was such an honour being a part of their day. I laughed, I cried and I danced my arse off to some sweet sweet tunes provided by some exceedingly talented music folk. I also ate some very very good food.
It all kicked off with my good friend @natsproal.melbournecelebrant doing a masterful job at the helm.

Having their wedding in their very own backyard was the perfect way to make sure that their wedding was truly about ‘them’ - how I love a couple, doing their own thing, their own way. They were super relaxed on the day, with nothing but excited nerves for the day ahead. They’d put in the time, had everything prepared and were smart enough to delegate things that needed delegating.

I got to spend the day with these two gorgeous humans.
I laughed. I cried (with actual tears almost to the point of sobbing). I was blown away by the amount of love there was in the room and surrounding them at all times.
